Split Jacks
Jump from a split stance, switching the feet front and back in the air, with the arms raised overhead; the lunge-shaped jumping jack.
How to do it
Setup
Split stance, one foot a stride ahead, knees soft, arms raised overhead.
Steps
- Hop up and switch the feet front and back.
- Land in the opposite split with both knees bent.
- Keep the arms up and the chest tall throughout.
Common mistakes
Landing on straight legs: bend both knees to catch it. Front knee drifting past the toes: land long enough to keep it over the ankle. Arms sagging forward: keep them up over the shoulders.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
