Sitting Woodchopper on Stability Ball
The seated woodchop on a stability ball: a medicine ball in both hands chops from above one shoulder to the outside of the opposite knee while the hips stay balanced.
How to do it
Setup
On top of the stability ball, hips over its center, feet planted wide, a medicine ball held in both hands above one shoulder.
Steps
- Chop the medicine ball low across the body, past the far knee.
- Turn the chest with the chop while the stability ball stays still.
- Lift back along the diagonal; switch sides after the set.
Common mistakes
Stability ball rolling as you chop: slow down and keep the hips centered on it. Chopping with the arms alone: the whole trunk rotates into the chop. Rounding forward at the bottom: keep the chest long.
Breathing
Exhale on the chop, inhale returning.
