Sitting Crossed Legged Reach Forward Stretch
Sitting cross-legged, walk the hands forward along the floor and let the back round over the legs; the lower back and the buttocks lengthen.
How to do it
Setup
Seated cross-legged on the floor, hands on the floor in front of the shins.
Steps
- Walk the hands forward and let the chest sink.
- Let the head hang and the back round; the seat stays down.
- Hold and breathe, then walk the hands back to sit up.
- Switch which shin is in front and repeat.
Common mistakes
Seat lifting as the hands walk out: stop there; the hips stay down. Forcing the chest to the floor: let each exhale take you lower. Sitting up fast: walk the hands back, head last.
Breathing
Slow and even through the hold.
