Single Straight Leg Stretch

The straight-leg version of the single leg stretch: head curled up, one straight leg is drawn toward the face by the hands while the other stays low, switching like scissors.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on the back, head and shoulders curled up, one straight leg raised with both hands behind the calf, the other long just off the floor.

Steps

  1. Draw the raised straight leg toward the face.
  2. Scissor the legs, the low leg rising as the other lowers.
  3. Keep switching with the curl held and the lower back down.

Common mistakes

Bending the knees to reach the face: keep both legs straight and bring the leg only as far as it goes. Low leg touching the floor: keep it hovering. Lower back lifting as the legs swap: slow the switch and stay curled.

Breathing

Steady with the rhythm.
