Single-Leg Sit (Wall)

The wall sit on one leg with the arms reaching overhead; with one foot off the floor, the standing thigh holds the whole position.

How to do it

Setup

Back on the wall, thighs parallel, one foot lifted off the floor, arms straight overhead.

Steps

  1. Shift the weight onto one leg and lift the other foot.
  2. Hold the thigh parallel and the back flat on the wall.
  3. Time the hold, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Standing knee drifting inward: keep it over the foot. Hips tilting toward the lifted leg: level them against the wall. Arms dropping forward: reach them overhead to keep the back tall.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
