Single-Leg Hopping

Continuous hops on one leg in place, the other knee lifted; the hopping leg lands soft every time.

How to do it

Setup

On one leg, the other knee raised in front, arms bent.

Steps

  1. Hop up off the ball of the foot.
  2. Land on the same spot with a slightly bent knee.
  3. Keep hopping in rhythm; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Landing flat-footed and heavy: meet the floor with the ball of the foot. Hopping knee drifting inward: keep it over the toes. Drifting around the room: land on the same spot.

Breathing

Exhale on each hop; steady rhythm.
