Single-Leg Bodyweight Deadlift with Arm and Leg Extended

The bodyweight single-leg hinge with one arm reaching forward and the free leg reaching back, so the body stretches into one long line level with the floor.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on one leg, knee soft, arms at the sides.

Steps

  1. Tip forward from the hip as the free leg lifts behind.
  2. Reach one arm forward until hand, torso and heel make one line.
  3. Hold for a beat, then return to standing; finish the side, switch.

Common mistakes

Free leg turning out: the toes point at the floor. Reaching arm dropping toward the floor: it stays in line with the torso. Standing knee locked: soft through every rep.

Breathing

Inhale hinging, exhale standing.
