Single-Leg Deadlift on the Hack Squat Machine

The single-leg deadlift facing into a hack squat machine, shoulders under the pads, the free leg reaching back.

How to do it

Setup

Facing into the hack machine, shoulders under the pads, weight on one leg.

Steps

  1. Tip the chest down, the free leg lifting behind.
  2. Stop with the torso and leg in one line.
  3. Drive the standing hip forward to rise; switch legs.

Common mistakes

Hips rotating open: both hip bones face the floor. Standing knee bending into a squat: soft and still. Leaving the safeties open when switching legs: lock them first.
