Landmine Deadlift

The deadlift with the loaded end of a landmine bar held in both hands between the feet; the pivot sets an arc that keeps the load close.

How to do it

Setup

Facing the pivot over the bar's loaded end, feet either side of it, both hands around the sleeve; hips low, chest up.

Steps

  1. Stand up, letting the bar travel along its arc close to the body.
  2. Squeeze the glutes at the top without leaning back.
  3. Sit back down to set the plate on the floor.

Common mistakes

Standing too far from the loaded end: the arc pulls you forward; stand right over it. Squatting with a rounded back: set the chest up first. Letting the plate slam down: lower it under control every rep.

Breathing

Inhale at the bottom, exhale after lockout.
