Side Plank Oblique Crunch
Hip dips in a straight-arm side plank with the feet up on a bench and the top hand behind the head; the raised feet load the side more.
How to do it
Setup
Side plank on a straight arm, hand under the shoulder, feet stacked on a flat bench, top hand behind the head.
Steps
- Lower the hips toward the floor.
- Lift them back up by crunching the side of the waist.
- Finish the set, then switch sides.
Common mistakes
Feet sliding on the bench: stack them firmly and keep the legs straight. Supporting elbow softening: lock the arm under the shoulder. Pulling the head with the top hand: the hand rests; the waist does the lift.
Breathing
Exhale lifting the hips, inhale lowering.
