Side Lying Scissors
Propped on the forearm on your side, the top leg sweeps high and returns: side-lying hip abduction.
How to do it
Setup
On one side, propped on the forearm, legs straight and stacked.
Steps
- Raise the top leg high, toes facing forward.
- Keep the hips stacked; do not roll back.
- Lower slowly; finish the side, then switch.
Common mistakes
Rolling the pelvis back to go higher: raise only as far as the hips stay stacked. Toes turning up: keep them pointing forward. Sinking into the supporting shoulder: push the floor away.
Breathing
Exhale on the raise, inhale lowering.
