Side Bridge with Straight Legs

Hip dips in a straight-arm side plank on straight stacked legs, the top hand behind the head: the hips sink a little and lift back into line.

How to do it

Setup

Side plank on the straight bottom arm, fist or hand under the shoulder, legs straight and stacked, top hand behind the head.

Steps

  1. Let the hips sink a hand's width toward the floor.
  2. Drive them back up into one straight line.
  3. Repeat for the set, then switch sides.

Common mistakes

Dropping the hips all the way to the floor: a short dip keeps the side working. Shoulder sinking over the support arm: push the floor away. Top elbow pulling the head forward: the hand only rests there.

Breathing

Exhale lifting the hips, inhale lowering.
