Seated Single-Leg Calf Raise on a Chair
The lightest seated calf raise: on a chair, one leg stretched out, the other heel rising with only the leg's own weight.
How to do it
Setup
Seated upright on a chair, one foot flat, the other leg out on its heel.
Steps
- Raise the heel of the bent leg as high as it goes.
- Squeeze at the top for a beat.
- Lower the heel slowly; switch legs after the set.
Common mistakes
Leaning back into the chair: sit tall over the working leg. Toes curling off the floor: press through the ball of the foot. Quick flicks of the heel: an even pace both ways.
Breathing
Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
