Seated Pulse Back Squeeze

Seated cross-legged with the arms held out low at the sides, palms up, the shoulder blades squeeze together in short pulses and never fully release.

How to do it

Setup

Seated cross-legged, torso tall, arms out to the sides a little below shoulder height, palms up.

Steps

  1. Draw the arms back a little by squeezing the blades together.
  2. Pulse in small squeezes without letting the blades relax.
  3. Keep the chest up and the neck long for the whole set.

Common mistakes

Swinging the arms instead of squeezing: the blades move the arms, not the other way round. Arms sinking toward the floor: hold them just below shoulder height. Chin jutting forward: keep the head over the shoulders.

Breathing

Steady throughout; never held.
