Ring Chest Fly
The chest fly leaning into gymnastic rings; the rings drift and turn, so the chest and shoulders hold every inch of the arc.
How to do it
Setup
Rings at about waist height, hands in them, body leaning forward in one line, arms in front.
Steps
- Lower the chest between the rings as the arms spread apart.
- Stop while you can still pull the rings back.
- Squeeze the rings together and rise to the start.
Common mistakes
Rings sliding too wide at the bottom: a shorter arc, more control. Hips sagging: one line from head to heels. Leaning far forward too soon: start upright and walk the feet back over weeks.
Breathing
Inhale opening, exhale on the squeeze.
