Revolved Triangle Pose

The Triangle stance turned the other way: the hand opposite the front leg reaches down while the chest twists open over the leg.

How to do it

Setup

Legs a long stride apart and straight, front foot forward, back foot turned in about 45°, hips square.

Steps

  1. Lengthen the spine, then hinge forward over the front leg.
  2. Set the opposite hand by the front foot or on a block and twist the chest open.
  3. Reach the top arm up and hold; unwind and switch sides.

Common mistakes

Twisting by rounding the back: lengthen first, then turn from the pelvis. Back heel lifting off the floor: press it down or shorten the stance. Craning the neck to look up: keep the head in line with the spine.

Breathing

Inhale to lengthen, exhale to turn deeper.
