Resistance Band Standing External Rotation

Both elbows at the sides with a band stretched between the hands, turn the forearms out together; the shoulder blades squeeze at the end of the turn.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, elbows at the sides bent to 90°, palms up, the band held a little narrower than the body.

Steps

  1. Turn both forearms out, stretching the band, elbows pinned.
  2. Squeeze the shoulder blades together at the end.
  3. Bring the hands back in slowly against the band.

Common mistakes

Elbows drifting away from the ribs: keep them glued to the sides. Shoulders rising: blades down and back. Snapping the hands back in: control the return.

Breathing

Exhale rotating out, inhale returning.
