Resistance Band Seated Calf Stretch

Seated with one leg straight, a flat band looped around the ball of the foot draws the toes back; the calf stretches while the hands set the pull.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on the floor, one leg straight, the other knee bent up, a band looped around the ball of the straight leg's foot, an end in each hand.

Steps

  1. Pull the ends back toward the hips to draw the toes toward you.
  2. Keep the knee straight and the back tall.
  3. Hold and breathe, then switch legs.

Common mistakes

Band slipping to the toes: loop it around the ball of the foot. Knee lifting off the floor: keep the leg straight so the upper calf stretches. Leaning back to pull harder: sit tall and let the arms do the pulling.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
