Resistance Band Reverse Hyper with Stability Ball on Flat Bench

The reverse hyperextension off a flat bench with a stability ball held between the feet and a band above the knees: the ball adds load, the band keeps the knees apart.

How to do it

Setup

Face down on a flat bench, hips at its end, a looped band above the knees, a stability ball squeezed between the feet.

Steps

  1. Grip the ball with the feet and lift it by raising the legs.
  2. Pause with the legs level with the bench.
  3. Lower the ball back toward the floor under control.

Common mistakes

Ball slipping out: squeeze it with the insides of the feet. Knees drifting together under the band: press them out. Lifting above the bench line: stop at level; the lower back should not arch.

Breathing

Exhale as the legs rise, inhale on the way down.
