Rear Lunge with Battling Ropes

Keep alternating rope waves going while stepping back into a reverse lunge and returning, one leg after the other.

How to do it

Setup

Standing facing the anchor, a rope end in each hand, knees soft.

Steps

  1. Start alternating waves with the arms.
  2. Step one foot back into a lunge without stopping the waves.
  3. Drive back up and lunge with the other leg.

Common mistakes

Waves stopping during the lunge: the arms keep going throughout. Back knee slamming the floor: stop just above it. Front knee collapsing inward: keep it over the toes.

Breathing

Rhythmic with the waves; recover in the rests.
