Bear Crawl (Low Hip)
The bear crawl with the hips held low, level with the shoulders, and the knees skimming just above the floor.
How to do it
Setup
On hands and toes, knees bent and hovering just above the floor, hips level with the shoulders.
Steps
- Crawl forward with short steps, opposite hand and foot together.
- Keep the hips down at shoulder level the whole way.
- Keep the knees hovering; they never touch.
Common mistakes
Hips rising as you tire: that is the high bear crawl; keep them level with the shoulders. Knees dropping to the floor: hover them the whole time. Steps too long: short steps keep the hips steady.
Breathing
Steady with the steps.
