Push with Chair
From tall kneeling, fall forward onto a chair seat, lower the chest toward it and push back hard enough to return upright.
How to do it
Setup
Kneeling tall an arm's length from a sturdy chair set against a wall, arms at the sides.
Steps
- Fall forward and catch the seat edge with both hands, elbows bending.
- Let the chest come down close to the seat.
- Push off the seat fast and return to tall kneeling.
Common mistakes
A chair that slides: set it against a wall first. Catching with locked elbows: soft elbows absorb the fall. Folding at the hips on the way back: the body stays straight from knees to head.
Breathing
Inhale falling forward, exhale on the push.
