Push-Up (Wall)
Standing a step from a wall, the push-up done against it with the body leaning in one straight line; the lightest push-up there is.
How to do it
Setup
Standing an arm's length from a wall, hands on it at shoulder height and width, heels down.
Steps
- Bend the elbows and bring the chest toward the wall.
- Keep the body straight from head to heels.
- Push back until the arms are straight.
Common mistakes
Bending at the hips toward the wall: move as one plank. Standing so close that it is too easy: step the feet back. Elbows flaring up to shoulder height: keep them lower, about 45° from the body.
Breathing
Inhale toward the wall, exhale pushing away.
