Potty Squat with Support
A deep squat holding a sturdy support at arm's length, sitting back as far as the hips go; the support lets you reach full depth with the heels down.
How to do it
Setup
Facing a sturdy support such as an upright bench back, hands on its top, arms straight, feet hip-width.
Steps
- Sit the hips back and down into a deep squat, arms straight.
- Keep the heels down and the chest lifted.
- Stand up, using the support as little as you can.
Common mistakes
Pulling yourself up with the arms: the legs stand you up; the hands only balance. A support that can tip: use a fixed one. Heels coming up at the bottom: sit back more and widen the feet a little.
Breathing
Inhale down, exhale up.
