Pilates Machine Hundred
The hundred on a reformer: head and shoulders curled up, the straight legs raised, the arms press the straps down beside the hips and pump.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the carriage, a strap in each hand, arms reaching toward the ceiling, legs raised straight at an angle.
Steps
- Curl the head and shoulders up as the arms press the straps down beside the hips.
- Pump the straight arms in small beats, the legs still.
- Lower the head and release the straps to finish.
Common mistakes
Neck doing the lifting: curl from the upper belly, the chin slightly in. Legs dropping too low: raise them until the lower back stays down. Big arm swings: small, quick beats.
Breathing
Inhale for a few beats, exhale for a few beats.
