Peroneals Stretch

Seated with a band looped round the forefoot, the hands draw the foot toward the shin and turn the sole inward; the outside of the lower leg stretches.

How to do it

Setup

Seated on the floor, one leg long, a band looped round its forefoot, a handle in each hand.

Steps

  1. Draw the foot toward the shin with the band.
  2. Turn the sole slowly inward until the outside of the lower leg stretches.
  3. Hold and breathe, then ease off and switch legs.

Common mistakes

Yanking the band: the pull stays slow and light. Knee rolling out with the foot: keep the kneecap pointing up. Turning past a pinch at the ankle: back off to a stretch along the shin.

Breathing

Slow and even through the hold.
