One-Leg Donkey Calf Raise

The donkey calf raise on one leg: hands on a bench, the other foot lifted behind, so one calf lifts the whole body.

How to do it

Setup

Hands on a bench, torso tilted forward, one foot flat, the other lifted behind.

Steps

  1. Rise onto the ball of the standing foot.
  2. Hold the top with the hips level.
  3. Lower the heel to the floor; switch legs after the set.

Common mistakes

Hips dropping toward the lifted leg: keep them level. Leaning into the hands to rise: the hands steady; the calf lifts. Rushing one-leg reps: slow up, slower down.

Breathing

Exhale rising, inhale lowering.
