One-Arm Push-Up

Feet wide, one hand behind the back: lower on a single arm while the trunk resists twisting.

One-Arm Push-Up, illustrated

How to do it

Setup

Feet WIDE, working hand under the chest's center, other hand behind the back.

Steps

  1. Lower on the single arm, trunk fighting the twist.
  2. Chest toward the floor, hips level.
  3. Press back up without rolling.

Common mistakes

Hips rotating open: the anti-twist IS half the exercise; wider feet help. Tiny range sold as reps: depth grows with strength; be honest. Elbow flaring: it tracks back.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
