Narrow Push-Up on Stability Ball

The push-up with the shins on a stability ball and the hands close together under the chest; the narrow base and raised feet load the triceps.

How to do it

Setup

Shins on the ball, hands on the floor under the chest a little narrower than the shoulders, body in one line.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest toward the hands, elbows tracking back.
  2. Keep the ball still and the hips level.
  3. Press back up to straight arms.

Common mistakes

Hips sagging: brace and squeeze the glutes. Hands drifting wide: keep them under the chest; the narrow base is the variant. Ball rolling sideways: steady it before each rep.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale up.
