Machine Side Hip Adduction

The standing hip adduction on a multi-hip machine: the pad on the inside of the working thigh, the leg sweeps in across the body against it.

How to do it

Setup

Standing on the machine's platform, the pad against the inner thigh above the knee, the working leg starting out to the side.

Steps

  1. Sweep the leg in until it crosses just past the standing leg.
  2. Keep the torso upright and the hips square.
  3. Let the leg return out slowly; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Opening too wide at the start: the groin strains; shorten the range. Twisting the torso to help: the leg moves, the body does not. Letting the stack slam: slow return.

Breathing

Exhale on the squeeze, inhale opening.
