Machine Seated Leg Raise Crunch (Plate-Loaded)
Seated in a plate-loaded machine with the hands on the handles by the head and the rollers against the shins, lift the legs as the torso curls down to meet them.
How to do it
Setup
Seated, back against the pad, the rollers against the front of the shins, hands on the handles beside the head.
Steps
- Lift the knees against the rollers as the chest curls toward them.
- Hold the squeeze where the knees and the chest meet.
- Lower the legs and uncurl slowly until the plates almost rest.
Common mistakes
Pulling on the handles to curl: the arms hold; the abs work. Swinging the legs up: lift them at the pace you lower them. Dropping the head to the knees: the ribs curl and the head follows.
Breathing
Exhale on the crunch, inhale on the return.
