Machine Lying Crunch
Lying on a crunch bench with the feet hooked, the hands on the lever's handles by the shoulders, curl the chest up against its resistance.
How to do it
Setup
Lying on the bench, feet hooked under the rollers, knees bent, a handle in each hand beside the head.
Steps
- Curl the shoulders and ribs up, the handles moving with you.
- Pause with the ribs curled toward the hips.
- Lower the shoulders back to the pad under control.
Common mistakes
Pulling the handles with the arms: they ride along; the abs do the curl. Feet slipping from the rollers: hook them firmly before the set. Letting the weight drop you back: lower as slowly as you curl.
Breathing
Exhale on the crunch, inhale lowering.
