Machine Incline Fly
The incline fly in a plate-loaded machine; the levers set the arc, so the upper chest can work without balancing bells.
How to do it
Setup
Seated in the incline machine, back on the pad, handles gripped out wide at shoulder level.
Steps
- Close the levers until the handles meet above the upper chest.
- Hold the handles together for a beat.
- Let the levers open back to a light stretch.
Common mistakes
Letting the levers pull the arms behind the shoulders: stop at a light stretch. Back peeling off the pad to finish: the pad stays under the upper back. Resting the plates on the stack between reps: the chest stays loaded throughout.
Breathing
Exhale on the squeeze, inhale opening.
