Machine Incline Chest Press (Plate-Loaded)
The incline machine press on a plate-loaded machine with independent arms, so the stronger side cannot carry the weaker one.
How to do it
Setup
Seated, back on the reclined pad, handles at the upper-chest line, feet planted.
Steps
- Drive both handles up and away until the arms are straight.
- Keep the two levers level with each other.
- Lower until the chest stretches, without resting the plates.
Common mistakes
One arm racing ahead: the levers are independent; match the weaker side. Hips sliding forward on the seat: set it so the handles meet the upper chest. Shoulders rolling forward at the top: blades stay pinned.
Breathing
Exhale pressing, inhale returning.
