Machine Bent-Over Row (with Chest Support)
Standing on the platform of a plate-loaded row machine with the chest on its angled pad, both handles rowed back; the pad does the hinge's holding.
How to do it
Setup
Feet on the platform, chest on the pad, the standard handles in both hands, arms long.
Steps
- Row the handles back toward the ribs.
- Squeeze the blades with the chest still on the pad.
- Return the levers to a long stretch.
Common mistakes
Lifting the chest to finish: the pad is the point; fewer plates. Feet too far back to reach the pad: stand close enough to lean in fully. Bouncing the levers at the bottom: stop, then pull.
Breathing
Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
