Lying Leg Raise and Hold
The lying leg raise stopped partway: the straight legs are lifted off the floor and held there with the lower back pressed down.
How to do it
Setup
On the back, arms by the sides with the palms down, legs long and together.
Steps
- Lift the straight legs to a low angle off the floor.
- Hold them still with the lower back pressed into the mat.
- Lower the legs slowly once the hold is done.
Common mistakes
Lower back arching off the mat: raise the legs higher until it stays down. Pressing hard into the floor with the hands: they rest; the abs hold the legs. Breath held to get through the hold: keep it slow and even.
Breathing
Steady throughout; never held.
