Lying Leg Hip Raise on Floor

Lying on the floor with the arms out to the sides, tuck the long legs in and roll the hips up, then stretch the legs out to hover.

How to do it

Setup

On the back on the floor, arms out wide with the palms down, legs long and just off the floor.

Steps

  1. Draw the knees in over the chest.
  2. Roll the hips up off the floor, the feet reaching for the ceiling.
  3. Lower the hips and stretch the legs out long to hover.

Common mistakes

Heels resting on the floor between reps: they hover the whole set. Arms pressing hard for help: they only spread for balance. Hips crashing down: lower them under control.

Breathing

Exhale drawing the knees in, inhale extending.
