Lateral Walk Push-Up
A push-up followed by a few steps sideways on the hands and feet, then another push-up; a conditioning drill done for time rather than for reps.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands under the shoulders, feet hip-width, clear floor to either side.
Steps
- Do one push-up, chest to just above the floor.
- Step the hands and feet sideways together, hips level.
- Push up again, then walk back the other way.
Common mistakes
Hips piking up during the walk: keep the plank line between the push-ups. Crossing the hands over each other: step them apart and back together. Push-ups shrinking as the minutes pass: slow the walk, keep full reps.
Breathing
Steady with the rhythm.
