Kettlebell Sumo Deadlift
The sumo deadlift with one kettlebell between the feet, lifted by the handle; the wide stance lets the torso stay taller than in the kettlebell deadlift.
How to do it
Setup
Wide stance, toes out, the bell on the floor under the hips, both hands on the handle, back flat.
Steps
- Push the knees out and stand, the bell rising straight up.
- Finish tall with the glutes squeezed.
- Sit the hips down and back to set the bell down between the feet.
Common mistakes
Bell set ahead of the feet: start it under the hips. Knees caving on the way up: press them out over the toes. Rounding to grab the handle: sit lower until the back is flat.
Breathing
Inhale at the bottom, exhale after lockout.
