Kettlebell Goblet Reverse Lunge to Step-Up with Knee Drive

Bell at the chest: the reverse lunge, then the step-up with the trailing knee driven up; the elbows stay tucked so the bell does not pull the torso forward.

How to do it

Setup

Kettlebell held at the chest goblet-style, elbows under it, box in front.

Steps

  1. Step BACK into a lunge, rear knee toward the floor.
  2. Drive up through the front foot and step onto the box with it.
  3. Drive the trailing knee up; the bell stays tight to the chest.
  4. Step down under control and repeat on the same leg; switch after the set.

Common mistakes

Bell pulling the chest down: elbows tight under it. Pushing off the back toes: the FRONT leg stands you up. Leaning into the box on the step-up: tall torso, hips under the shoulders.

Breathing

Inhale stepping back, exhale driving up onto the box.
