Kettlebell Backward Lunge

The backward lunge with a kettlebell hanging in each hand, the bells at the sides instead of at the chest.

How to do it

Setup

Standing tall, feet together, a kettlebell hanging by each hip.

Steps

  1. Reach one foot BACK and sink toward the floor.
  2. Bells still, chest over the hips.
  3. Stand up and bring the back foot in.

Common mistakes

Stepping in line behind the front foot: keep hip-width tracks. Short step back: the front knee shoots forward; reach long. Folding over the front thigh: stay tall under the bells.

Breathing

Inhale stepping back, exhale driving up.
