Handstand Walk
From a pike, kick up to a freestanding handstand and walk forward on the hands, the shoulders stacked over the wrists.
How to do it
Setup
Hands on the floor shoulder-width, fingers spread, hips high in a pike, one foot ready to kick.
Steps
- Kick up into the handstand, legs together, ribs in.
- Shift the weight onto one hand and step the other forward a hand's length.
- Keep taking small steps with the legs tipped just ahead of the hands; come down one leg first.
Common mistakes
Big hand steps: short steps keep the stack; long ones topple it. Banana back: squeeze the glutes and pull the ribs in. Looking at the feet: eyes on the floor between the hands.
Breathing
Steady small breaths.
