Front Plank with Arm and Leg Lift (Push-Up Position)

The same opposite arm and leg lift from a plank on straight arms; one hand and one foot hold the whole body.

How to do it

Setup

Hands under the shoulders, arms straight, feet hip-width, body one line.

Steps

  1. Reach one arm forward as the OPPOSITE leg lifts back.
  2. Push the floor away with the supporting hand.
  3. Set both down and change the diagonal.

Common mistakes

Supporting shoulder sinking: press through the palm. Leg kicking above the body's line: the lower back arches; stop level. Rushing from side to side: settle before the next lift.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
