Power Point Plank
From a high plank, lift one limb at a time, a straight leg behind or an arm reaching forward, while the other three hold the body square.
How to do it
Setup
High plank, hands under the shoulders, feet hip-width, body in one line.
Steps
- Lift one straight leg to hip height and lower it.
- Reach one arm forward to shoulder height and lower it.
- Work through the legs and arms in turn, the hips square; time it.
Common mistakes
Hips twisting toward the lifted leg: square them before each lift. Leg swinging above hip height: the lower back arches; stop level with the body. Weight lurching onto one hand as the other lifts: brace before the reach.
Breathing
Exhale on each lift, inhale lowering.
