Dumbbell Side Bridge with Bent Leg

Hip raises in a forearm side plank on the bent bottom knee, a dumbbell resting on the top hip for load.

How to do it

Setup

On one forearm, the bottom knee bent under you, the top leg straight, a dumbbell held on the top hip.

Steps

  1. Lift the hips until the trunk is straight.
  2. Lower the hips to just above the floor.
  3. Finish the reps on this side, then switch.

Common mistakes

Letting the bell slide off the hip: hold it pressed in with the top hand. Dropping onto the floor between reps: stop just above it. Chest rolling toward the floor: keep the shoulders stacked.

Breathing

Exhale lifting, inhale lowering.
