Dumbbell Reverse-Grip Row

The two-dumbbell bent-over row with the palms facing forward; the underhand grip keeps the elbows tight and works the biceps harder.

How to do it

Setup

Hinged to about 45°, back flat, knees soft, the bells held palms forward.

Steps

  1. Row the bells to the hips, elbows brushing the sides.
  2. Keep the wrists straight at the top.
  3. Lower to long arms with the torso still.

Common mistakes

Curling the bells up: the elbows drive, the hands follow. Wrists bending back under the weight: keep them straight. Standing taller each rep: hold the hinge.

Breathing

Exhale on the row, inhale lowering.
