Dumbbell Prone Incline Hammer Curl

Hammer curls with both arms lying chest down on an incline bench; the arms hang vertically and the body cannot swing.

How to do it

Setup

Lying chest down on an incline bench, arms hanging, dumbbells held thumbs forward.

Steps

  1. Curl both bells up together, upper arms still.
  2. Pause with the bells near the shoulders.
  3. Return the bells to the start under control.

Common mistakes

Elbows swinging back and forth: they hang straight under the shoulders. Shrugging the shoulders up toward the ears: keep them down. Cutting the hang short: let the arms straighten fully between reps.

Breathing

Exhale on the curl, inhale lowering.
