Dumbbell Pronate-Grip Triceps Extension

The lying dumbbell extension with the palms facing the feet instead of each other; the overhand grip turns the bells across the head as they lower.

How to do it

Setup

Lying on a flat bench, a bell in each hand above the chest, palms facing the feet, upper arms angled slightly back.

Steps

  1. Bend the elbows to lower the bells behind the top of the head.
  2. Keep the upper arms still and the elbows narrow.
  3. Straighten the arms to bring the bells back over the face.

Common mistakes

Elbows splaying wide as the bells lower: keep them in line with the shoulders. Letting the bells touch the head: stop just short of it. Rocking the upper arms to start the press: only the forearms move.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale extending.
