Cross Arms Push-Up

The push-up with the hands crossed at the wrists under the chest, narrower than the diamond; the elbows fan out and the triceps take the press.

How to do it

Setup

High plank, the hands crossed at the wrists under the chest, body in one line.

Steps

  1. Lower the chest toward the crossed hands.
  2. Let the elbows travel out to the sides, the body rigid.
  3. Press back to straight arms.

Common mistakes

Hands drifting toward the face: keep them under the chest. Hips sagging on the way down: brace the trunk. Stopping halfway: lower until the chest nears the hands.

Breathing

Inhale down, exhale pressing.
