Dumbbell One-Arm Triceps Extension on Stability Ball

The seated one-arm overhead extension sitting on a stability ball instead of a bench, the free hand on the hip; the ball asks the trunk to stay tall.

How to do it

Setup

Seated tall on a stability ball, feet wide, one bell overhead, the free hand on the hip.

Steps

  1. Lower the bell behind the head by bending the elbow.
  2. Keep the elbow pointing up and the ball still.
  3. Extend to a straight arm; switch sides after the set.

Common mistakes

Rolling on the ball as the bell drops: plant the feet wide and brace. Elbow flaring out: keep it by the ear. Leaning to the working side: sit tall and square.

Breathing

Inhale lowering, exhale extending.
